Donate Blood and Get a Free Heart-Health Screening

Vitalant is hosting a blood drive on Thursday, August 4, from 9 am to 2 pm at LVR in Classroom B. The Community Outreach Committee invites you to help our community by donating your time and blood. Just one unit can help up to three people, so please participate if you're eligible or know someone who might want to donate!

Did you know that blood is needed for someone in the U.S. every two seconds? Generous donors like you can help meet this constant need for blood, and when you give blood, you could save the life of a cancer patient or someone needing open-heart surgery. Remember, it's the blood on the shelves hospitals turn to in emergencies.

There is a critical need for donors with the most transfused blood type O, which has recently dipped to about half of the desired four-day supply, along with platelet donors, whose donations must be used within a week of donation.

In addition, every donor receives a mini-physical checking their pulse, blood pressure levels, cholesterol test, and COVID 19 antibody testing.
