Donate Blood at LVR

Vitalant and the LVR Community Outreach Committee are hosting a blood drive, and you are invited to help our community by donating. Just one blood donation can help up to three people. The drive will be held on Friday, May 20th, from 9 am to 2 pm.

Vitalant encourages all eligible blood donors to give from the heart and assist patients in urgent need of blood. In addition to helping save lives, every blood donor receives a mini-physical checking their pulse, blood pressure, cholesterol test, and COVID-19 antibody test.

Every day, Vitalant must collect about 5,300 donations to be prepared for the needs of both routine and emergency patients. The blood will be donated to patients involved in car accidents, cancer treatments, heart transplants, and surgery for infants born with heart defects.

All blood types are needed, especially Type O. A blood type of Type O Negative can be used for any patient, and Type O Positive is also widely used since it is the most prevalent blood type in the population.
