Five Questions with Paul Chaffee

To find out more about him, we asked him these quick questions:
- How long have you been involved with CCIM?
- I became of member of the Southern Nevada CCIM Chapter in 2003 and a member of CCIM National in 2018. I became a CCIM designee in 2019.
- How long have you been involved with CALV?
- I think I became a member of CALV in 2015.
- What prompted you to join CCIM and get more involved?
- CCIM is one of the premier commercial real estate designations. The education, networking, and community service opportunities are unparalleled by any other commercial real estate organization. As a CCIM designee, I have international recognition by investors, owners, and users as an expert in commercial real estate with a proven track record. All of these reasons prompted me to get involved.
- What’s your job, and what’s your favorite part of your job?
- I’m a commercial real estate broker. I have many favorite parts of my job:
- Every day is different, with new challenges and new successes.
- The ability to help people get the most return from their real estate investments; and to help them create an avenue that could produce generational wealth and security.
- Helping people that are stuck in a piece of real estate, helping them either sell or lease their property to alleviate that stress in their lives.
- I’m a commercial real estate broker. I have many favorite parts of my job:
- What’s the biggest issue facing the commercial real estate industry today?
- I believe that there are several issues facing the commercial real estate industry today:
- Raising interest rates affecting the ability of buyers to purchase commercial properties that they want.
- The uncertainty of the market.
- Cost of construction.
- Skilled workers in construction.
- Skilled workers to fill positions in businesses that relocate to Southern Nevada.
- In Southern Nevada:
- The status of our water supply in Southern Nevada.
- The lack of privately owned, developable land in Southern Nevada.
- I believe that there are several issues facing the commercial real estate industry today:
- What’s one thing most people would be surprised to know about you?
- I’m a fairly open book, but here are a few:
- I am an avid reader.
