Matrix Verification Steps

Non-MLS Members

Release Date: December 27, 2024 at 3:00 PM

Effective January 14, 2025, Matrix will implement additional verification steps when adding a “non-MLS member” (e.g., identifier 099999) to the buyer’s side of a transaction. These changes aim to improve tracking and ensure compliance in real estate transactions involving non-MLS members.

Key Updates

1. Non-MLS Member Identifier

  • When the identifier (e.g., 099999) is used, the system will classify the agent or party as a non-MLS member.
  • Additional steps and fields will be required to ensure transaction compliance.

2. Prompt for Buyer’s License Status

  • The system will prompt users to specify whether the buyer’s agent is Licensed or an Unrepresented Buyer.
  • This step ensures the system accurately captures the licensing status of all parties involved.

3. Mandatory Field for License Number

  • If the buyer’s agent is licensed, their license number must be entered in a new mandatory field.
  • This ensures proper identification and compliance in transaction records.

Why These Changes Matter

These updates are designed to maintain accurate records for compliance and reporting while ensuring transparency in transactions involving non-MLS members.
