Browser 101 – Good Computer Hygiene

There are many web browsers to choose from. However, the recommended browser for Matrix is Google Chrome. You can install Google Chrome on your computer regardless of whether it's a Mac or PC.

Also, storing important passwords in your browser can create a security risk. If someone other than you gets access to your computer and you have stored passwords in your browser, they may be able to access your accounts.

Keeping your browser in good shape entails doing some ongoing maintenance. The primary maintenance step is clearing cookies and temporary internet files. This can be done as follows:

1. On your computer, open Chrome.
2. At the top right, click on the three dots (they should be arranged vertically).
3. Click More tools, select Clear browsing data . . .
4. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
5. Next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.
6. Click Clear data.
7. This will erase your entire browsing history.
8. Generally, if you are having any Matrix issues, they will clear up after you perform this step.
